In Loving Memory of Fantasy
Pekingese Chihuahua
March 8, 2011 - September 28, 2026
For 15 years, Fantasy filled her family's life with a personality far bigger than her little frame.
Fantasy came into their lives at just eight weeks old and quickly grew into the brave, loving, wonderfully sassy little girl her family adored. Affectionately known as Fancy-Pants, FancyBoBancy, and Mama's Girl, Fantasy was one of a kind—the sweetest and sassiest little dog with a spirit that was truly larger than life.
Fantasy took her responsibilities seriously. She found her voice and became a fierce little guardian, always ready to protect her family and home from whatever might come their way—even the rolling leaves outside.
She loved feeling the breeze, whether during an adventure through the car wash or simply enjoying the world around her. Her family held onto her little backside tightly so their tiny girl wouldn't “float away like a balloon.” And when afternoon came around, Fantasy's famous sass made it perfectly clear that nothing was going to interfere with her nap.
These little moments became part of the life her family built with her: her bravery, her sass, her routines, and the enormous amount of love contained in such a small companion.
At the end of her journey, Fantasy was exactly where she belonged—safe against her human's chest and surrounded by the hands and love she had known throughout her life.
Though her absence has left a space that can never be filled, the bond Fantasy shared with her family remains. Her mom continues to see the little signs Fantasy leaves behind and takes comfort in knowing that one day, they'll find their way back to one another.
The Little Guard of Rolling Leaves
Fifteen years ago you came,
A tiny spark, a beautiful name.
From eight weeks old, a puppy small,
You grew to rule and guard it all.
You found your voice and learned to bark,
The fiercest guardian of the park.
You kept us safe from everything,
And told the rolling leaves who’s king.
Like Hansel and Gretel on the street,
You marked the path for tiny feet.
A trail of love on every blade,
To mark the beautiful home we made.
You braved the car wash, bold and bright,
And caught the breeze with pure delight.
We held your little butt so tight,
Lest you float away like a balloon in flight.
And when the afternoon rolled 'round,
Your famous sass could be easily found.
No nap denied, you knew your worth,
The sweetest, sassiest dog on earth.
But now, sweet Fantasy, it's time to rest,
Tucked safe against your human's chest.
You cannot see, you cannot hear,
But your favorite hands are holding you near.
We give you permission to let it all go,
We promise we're okay down here below.
So catch that final, peaceful breeze,
Go bark at heaven's rolling leaves.
Wait by the gate until our time is through,
And we will find our way back home to you.
A Message from Her Family
