In Loving Memory of Elsie

Domestic Shorthair Orange Tabby

January 4, 2012 – September 15, 2026

Some companions become part of your life so deeply that it is difficult to imagine it without them, and Elsie was one of those companions.

Affectionately known as Elsie Welsie, Baby Boo, and Elsiebear, Elsie came into her mom's life when she was in seventh grade and going through a difficult time with bullying. At the Humane Society, Elsie was the only cat who reached out with a gentle rub against her hand and a purr. From that moment, her mom knew Elsie was her baby.

Calm and introverted by nature, Elsie was always ready for cuddles, treats, belly rubs, and a cozy place beside her mom. Their bed, tucked together under the sheets, became their own little sanctuary—a place where Elsie could enjoy all the warmth and comfort she could ever need.

Elsie remained by her mom's side through every chapter of her teenage and young adult life. She was there through college, relationships, and the many apartments they shared together. She even had a way of teaching the other cats their manners. Elsie also outlived three beloved family dogs—Humphrey, Gemma, and Ryder.

Her family will miss her familiar meow, the way she would flick her purple food dish when she was hungry, and simply having her nearby. Most of all, they will miss the comfort Elsie brought during difficult times and the quiet companionship she gave so freely.

Elsie leaves behind her sister, Skye, who is now learning how to navigate life without her. Though the sisters were not always especially close, they shared a mutual love, and Elsie's presence will continue to be felt in the lives of her family and closest friends.

A Message from Her Family

"I love you Elsie, I will never forget you and all the things we did together! Your sister Skye will follow your lead and love me until the day she too passes away. I will forever love you and cherish our time together, Elsie. Love you forever and always, Momma."

Lovingly remembered by family.
Forever honoured by Canalside Crematorium.
